What Is It?

SEEDS of Learning is a set of Early Childhood Professional Development frameworks. SEEDS of Parenting uses a Train-the-Trainer model to guide parents in creating supportive, caring, and productive interactions. Through SEEDS Quality Interactions, we foster age appropriate development.

This framework shows parents how to:

  • to seamlessly integrate meaningful literacy-rich exchanges throughout the day.
  • Increase parent efficacy through a research-based skill development cycle
  • Strengthen learning through quality interactions

Who Is It For?

This framework is designed for parents of infants and children up to age 5.

Potential SEEDS of Learning parents often have little to no experience in early childhood education and are seeking proven ways to support their children at home during everyday activities.

How It Works

An organization (like a childcare provider or preschool) adopts the SEEDS of Parenting framework.
Providers complete SEEDS of Parenting Train-the-Trainer certification, presented by the CARES for Learning team.
Certified SEEDS of Parenting trainers complete workshops with parents at the childcare location.

“What I loved about the SEEDS sessions was that I could put into motion what I had learned immediately.”

– Sandra Reyes, Teacher, City of Oakland Head Start
